About a million years ago, our ancestors figured out how to start a fire. We've been burning things to keep ourselves warm, cook our food and light our homes ever since. Today we use fossil fuels to power our cars, homes and electronic devices. We use energy for everything from nose hair clippers, electronic pets and computer games to heating car seats and freezing ice cubes. We use energy even when we aren't using our electronic gadgets. (Ever heard of phantom loads?)
Most of our energy comes from burning coal, gas and oil, non-renewable resources. While we may run out of these fuels in the future, their impact on global warming is being felt now.
Count yourself in to use less energy. The world will be a cooler place.
